Ballot initiative victory

A non-binding referendum was on the November 2022 ballot that asked residents of some south side neighborhoods “Should the city of Chicago stop cutting down trees in Jackson Park and the area surrounding the South Shore Cultural Center?”. The answer was a resounding YES!

According to the unofficial totals posted by the Chicago Board of Elections, 82% of ballots case were in favor.

Congratulations to our friends and neighbors who put the question on the ballot spreading awareness and sending a message to our elected officials.
